Illustrious Forest, on his first start for Derbyshire Racing, ran out an impressive winner of the Class 6 1m4f handicap at Wolverhampton on Friday 30 December, ending 2011 on a high. He had been out of sorts for most of the season but had shown signs he was returning to form last time out and galloped his rivals into the ground to win by 8 lenghts.

Fast forward 7 days to the 6th January and Vanilla Rum completed a memorable Friday night double at Wolverhampton when running away with the 1m1f handicap under a confident Joe Fanning.
